Telegram Introduces Multiple Account Switching On Android

03 January 2018

Telegram, a messaging app was busy to counter the government's accusations to collect user data from over the past year, but the company hasn't forgotten to do something new for its users.

From now, Telegram users will be able to have multiple accounts on the same app officially. Obviously, you'll still need separate phone numbers for each account, but switching between them is as easy and seamless as it is in apps like Gmail. The new feature allows users to register up to three different accounts with different numbers. Unless the settings are changed, users will receive notifications from all their accounts. "To reinforce the festive mood, we're updating Telegram for the second time this December, adding features you've been asking for", said Telgram in a statement. The different themes in the Appearance settings, include a minimalistic Day theme along with two Dark themes- Night and Night Blue. In the meantime, Telegram is available in the App Store and Google Play Store for iOS and Android users, respectively. This allows users to reply to a specific message in a chat with just a swipe to the left. Notably, notifications on Telegram will combine messages from all the accounts by default. In the Android 4.7 update to Telegram, there is also a new "Swipe to Reply" feature. That is the newest update and the one that features both multiple account support and the quick-reply feature. You can download Telegram v4.7 from the Play Store for free.
