"Call It What You Want" became all-the-more endearing as Swift plucked at her acoustic guitar, backed up by a small group of vocalists, another guita, and cello.
Reputation is Swift's first album since she dropped 1989 three years ago. Of course in the time between albums, Swift has also gained infamy for being petty as fuck.
Taylor Swift's much awaited album "Reputation" is FINALLY blessing our lives and everyone is throwing their theories around as to WHO T-Swift is shading in each of her songs. As she notes in her song, "Forgiveness is a nice thing to do / I can't even say it with a straight face". The kicker is her explicit reference to the speakerphone call during which Kim recorded her, as Swift continues, "And therein lies the issue/Friends don't try to trick you/Get you on the phone and mind-twist you/And so I took an ax to a mended fence".
And beyond songs like Gorgeous and Delicate that deliberately reference Alwyn, Swift spends the majority of Reputation lusting after, falling in love with and eventually pledging her loyalty to her new beau, the most time she's ever spent on a romantic upswing on one of her albums. She starts by singing that she is not a fan of the "little games", "your tilted stage" or "the role you made me play of the fool, no, I don't like you". For all intents and purposes, the pair considered themselves "friends", something that feels especially significant when you consider this blistering line from "This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things": "It was so nice being friends again, there I was giving you a second chance, but you stabbed me in the back without shaking my hand". "/ This is why we can't have nice things".
This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things may be an enjoyable slice of pettiness, but the album's crown jewel of gossip is Getaway Car, which sees Swift in full storyteller mode as she chronicles using one doomed relationship to escape another.
Fans believe the song 'I Did Something Bad' is also about Calvin. While those years have certainly not been easy on the singer - or her reputation, for that matter - she has proven once again that she is able to rise from the ashes and work even smarter and harder.
Here, we've rounded up six sneaky references T.Swift could be making to Kanye with the song below.
