He expressed concern the delay in declaring the NEET results 2017 would cause anxiety to students and also defer the already fixed admissions schedule to undergraduate courses - MBBS and BDS - in government and private medical colleges.

Girls outshined boys in the exams which saw almost 3.5 lakh females qualifying for allotment out of the 6 lakh who took the test.

Out of 12 lakh students, around 10.5 lakh had given examination either in English or Hindi.

Around 11,38,890 students are said to be registered for this exam, including 1522 NRIs, 480 OCIs, 70 PIOs and 613 foreigners.
